What is Life Coaching?
Life Coaching is a powerful ongoing partnership between client and coach, designed to inspire the client to becoming the best that she can possibly be. A life coach helps the client to focus on gaining clarity, envisioning an attainable future, setting goals, and creating a plan of action to achieve these goals.
A life coach understands that the client holds the answers, so poignant questions are posed to help the client unlock her true potential. Personality assessments and self exploration exercises are used to assist the client in learning who she truly is, to identify her dreams and desires, and to set goals.
The coaching experience is tailored to meet the needs of each client, and the relationship is focused entirely on getting the results the client desires. The coach’s responsibility is to hold the client accountable for reaching the desired outcomes.
How Life Coaching Differs From Therapy
Therapy and Life Coaching differ in significant ways. Therapy focuses on analyzing, resolving, and healing past experiences. Life Coaching, by contrast, focuses on the present, the future and its possibilities. Life Coaching is more results- and action-focused than therapy.
